Boat Cruises

The Augustów Boat Transportation Company (Żegluga Augustowska) first started to organize cruises in 1953. Approximately 100,000 passengers use its services annually. The cruises season begins in April and continues through late autumn. Passengers are offered cruises on the 200-passenger boats: Sajno and Serwy and the 330-passenger catamaran Swoboda.

Cruises in Augustów:

• Cruise to Studzieniczna - on Necko Lake (with an area of 400 ha, and a maximum depth of 25m), Biale Lake (with an area of 480 ha, and a maximum depth of 30m) and Studzieniczne Lake (with an area of 250.1 ha, and a maximum depth of 30.5m), being connected by the Augustów Canal. The itinerary of the cruise includes going through the lock in Przewięź and a 20-minute stop at the Marian Shrine in Studzieniczna. Duration: 3 hours, price: 70 PLN / person.

• Cruise to the Rospuda River Valley – through Necko Lake (with an area of 400 ha, and a maximum depth of 25m) and Rospuda Lake (with an area of 104 ha, and a maximum depth of 10.5m). Duration: 1 hour, price: 40 PLN / person.

The Augustów Boat Transportation Company (Żegluga Augustowska) also offers special cruises, nightlife and entertainment events. On 9th June 1999, the Serwy boat hosted a special passenger - Pope John Paul II. He took a cruise from the marina at the Pacific Resort to Studzieniczna. According to his itinerary the Papal Trail has been marked out to recognize the visit of such a distinguished guest. To commemorate the visit of Pope John Paul II, a monument was erected in Studzieniczna.
