Minor Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

4 Ks. Skorupki street.

The church was built between 1906 and 1911 in an eclectic style, in the place of the demolished St. Bartholomew neoclassical church. It was built on a Latin cross plan. During the war, the church was partially destroyed. In the temple, you will find five oak altars. On the main altar, there is a painting of Our Lady of Częstochowa, at times covered by the image of the Heart of Jesus. The interior is decorated with paintings by 20th century artists from Vilnius and Częstochowa and contemporary stained glass windows. In 2001, the church was elevated to the rank of a Minor Basilica.

Our Lady of Częstochowa Church

The building of Our Lady of Częstochowa Church in Augustów was erected between 1896 and 1909 as a Russian military Orthodox church. In the years 1927-1939, it served as a garrison Catholic church for the 1st Krechowce Uhlan Regiment. The church was built of solid brick on a stone foundation. In the temple, on the right side of the altar, a painting of Our Lady of Czestochowa is hanging, known as Our Lady of Krechowce.

Saint John the Baptist Church

The temple was built in the early 1990s. It is made of brick and roofed with tin. In the presbytery, there is an image of the Merciful Jesus and a 4.5-meter cross with a figure of the crucified Jesus. In the church area, on the left side of the temple, there is a grotto with a statue of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, while on the right side of the main entrance to the temple, a monument to Augustów inhabitans deported to Siberia - a monument to the Polish Golgotha of the East.

Divine Mercy Church

The church was built in 1995 in a contemporary style. In the presbytery, there is a picture of the Merciful Jesus and on the side altar, there are paintings of St. Faustina and Our Lady of the Gates of Dawn.

Holy Family Church

The parish was established in 1994. The construction of the new church was completed in 2012.

Our Lady of the Scapular Church in Studzieniczna

In the second half of the 18th century, on an island in Studzieniczne Lake, settled a hermit, Wincenty Murawski, who became famous in the area as a herbalist and healer. In 1770, he built a small chapel, at the well with miraculous water, which has become a popular pilgrimage site.

The first wooden church was built in Studzieniczna in 1786 in connection with the growing cult of the image of Our Lady of Częstochowa in the area. The present wooden church dedicated to Our Lady of Scapular was built in 1847. The tower is decorated with a beautiful cross made by a blacksmith. The interior of the church was decorated by folk artists with wood and deer antlers.

Chapel of Our Lady Mother of Studzieniczna Mother of Church

The chapel is part of the Our Lady of Mount Scapular parish complex in Studzieniczna. The neo-Renaissance chapel of Our Lady Mother of Studzieniczna Mother of Church, on the island, houses the image of Our Lady of Studzieniczna (the 18th century copy of the Jasna Góra in Częstochowa painting). The chapel was built in 1871 on 64 oak stilts with materials used for the construction of the Augustów Canal locks. Next to the chapel, under a shingled roof, there is a well with miraculous water. Nearby, there is also a stone statue of St. John of Nepomuk.

In 1999, Studzieniczna was visited by Pope John Paul II. To commemorate this visit, a monument by Czesław Dźwigaj was erected there in 2000.

Chapel of the Kneeling Lord Jesus in Augustów

It is located at the intersection of Zygmuntowska and Rajgrodzka streets.

A figure of Lord Jesus kneeling at the cross has been worshipped here since the 18th century. In the 1830s, a wooden chapel was built in the place of worship. In 1872, the chapel was renovated. During the Second World War, it was destroyed. A new brick chapel was built from money collected from the residents of the town and Polish communities abroad in the years 1950-1954.

The Holy Place Range

The range on the Rospuda River is an ancient place of worship, dating back to pagan times. Enclosed by a wooden fence, there are a chapel from 1990, a few wooden and stone crosses, cabinet shrines and a large wooden religious sculpture. One of the wooden crosses, clearly very old, with a copper plate nailed to it, indicating that the cross was put up by converted Yotvingians, who were baptised in 1283. The cross miraculously survived and still stands in this place today.

An Orthodox parish church, which has been located in a former tire workshop since 1985, built after 1945 at the Zygmunt August Market Square. Inside there is a modest iconostasis.

Old Believers orthodox church in Gabowe Grądy

Old Believers, who settled in Gabowe Grądy in approximately 1867 belong to the Bespopovtsy (Priestless)- mainstream Orthodox Church, which, in the mid-17th century did not recognize the reforms put in place by Patriarch Nikon. The Old Believers' church is not a place where the Eucharist is held, it only holds services conducted by a controller, elected among members of the community.

The church in Gabowe Grądy was founded in 1948. It was built of wood on a rectangular plan. The building is boarded on the outside and has an addition of a bell tower. Inside, icons are placed on shelves. In 1989, the church was entered into the register of historic monuments.
